Course Description
Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) has the power to transform you at subconscious and unconscious levels. Nidra is made from two words, yoga meaning one-pointed awareness and Nidra means sleep. In yoga Nidra one appears to be asleep but the consciousness keeps functioning at a deeper level of awareness, referred to as psychic sleep today in the modern world.
Yoga Nidra is one of the most useful gifts, yoga has given to us today. This ancient yogic and tantric practice is to consciously relax the deepest layers of body, mind and soul. Yoga Nidra is a technique of Pratyahara (the sense withdrawal) the fifth limb of Ashtanga Yoga.
Proven by science, a 30 minutes of yoga Nidra practice can give the benefits of almost two hours of regular sleep. The EEGs and brain mapping shows that yoga Nidra generates synchronised and symmetrical alpha and delta waves at the same time. During yoga Nidra you can practice, the contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions which occur spontaneously and this contact can have the power to transform one’s nature.
Ancient yogis and sages have been using this technique for thousands of years so that they can save time by sleeping less and spend more time in their spiritual practices and activities.
Yoga Nidra is actually a complete meditation technique in itself and can take you to the state of Samadhi (Enlightenment).
